Dear everyone involved with this article,
Did you even watch the Emmy’s this year??? Specifically the category for Lead Female in a Comedy? There’s room for everyone, even if we aren’t all a sexually aggressive/rude/domineering nymphomaniac. Which apparently is the funniest thing to be?
the worst thing is that a woman wrote this article. this quote makes me feel bite-y:
really, there was a mentality that funny and sexy can’t go together? i thought the conventional wisdom was that funny and sexy kinda have to go together when you’re a woman and you want to be on television, unless you’re asking people to laugh AT you instead of WITH you. didn’t tina fey have to lose like 40 pounds to move from behind the camera on SNL? i’m so tired of this meme that being super sexy is somehow empowering. if it’s a requirement, it’s not empowering. The mentality that funny and sexy can’t go together is on its way out, because trying to be sexy is pretty damn funny!”
also, trying to be sexy isn’t funny.
